The Stepper's 411 is an entertainment newsletter that will inform you of the Special Stepper's Monthly Events happening around the country on a weekly basis.

Hey Steppers!!!!!

 

Where did Cynthia go last weekend???

 

Thursday, I went to the V103's & Majestic Gents World Largest Steppers Semi Finals @ Mr. G's.  DJ Mellow Khris was on the box doing his thang and Herb Kent, V103fm, was the MC.  It was nice seeing people I haven't seen in a long time.  All the walkers and trios that competed qualified.  The highlight of the evening for me was when Pete Fraizer asked for an all Female trio to compete.  He called out Shareda Newborn then Tabatha and they called on Shay.  When they called Shay she was surprised and we pushed her out there. (LOL)  I really liked this because they didn't have time to create a routine, they just went with what they knew and performed well.  Also Tmrific and Yvette were the only ones that dress for the part in the walkers category.  They looked so elegant in their Lavendar.  If you want to see the contestants that qualified in all categories in Chicago? Go to www.wlscontest.com and click on Photos.  I also went over to "Can I Step with You" which was on the other side.  They are slowly coming back.  DJ Platinum Phil was on the Box. This month they will celebrate their Anniversary.  I will keep you posted on that

 

Friday, no Steppin'.  I had to put my House Head on and went to Bocce's where I met Lisa E from Power 92fm and heard BooluMaster jam the box.  I seen Georgie Porgie and he asked what I was doing there.  Did I need to tell him that I went to Northern Illinois University from 1984 - 1986???  If you live in Illinois you know what I mean.

 

Saturday, my cousin had a b-b que for his b-day so I went there first.  After that I went back to Mr. G's where You 2 Productions were having their set and for Mr. G was celebrating his b-day.  Yes the owner of Mr. G's, Gene, was celebrating his b-day in his sports bar and he told me on Thursday that I'd better be back on Saturday. (LOL)  He is my homeboy and I made sure that I was there.  You 2 Productions had a really nice party.  DJ Vell was doing his thang on the box.  I had a nice time.

 

Sunday, I can't stop talking about how Strictly Steppers showed much love to all the people who they feel influenced them to get started having their set in November and kept it going.  They honored about 12 people (me included) by giving us a sit down dinner and certificates of appreciation before their set @ the Holiday Inn Hillside.  We had fried chicken, fried catfish, macaroni and cheese, greens, and then for dessert we had peach cobbler.  Wow!!!  Strictly Steppers , that was so classy of you all to do and I want to thank you for including me. Then the actual party started.  Guest DJs were Tra'Nicole, Shelia E, and DJ Squeaky.  Then Ice Mike got on the Box.  They also had a Stepper's contest which I was the MC for.  The winners were ~ Walkers: Florence and John "The Professor", Trio's: Westside Mike, Alexis, & Keisha; Originals: Darrin and Nikki.  This was so much fun.  I had a ball.

*David Joyce, DBJ Productions- Rockford, IL, was recently in Rockford Registar Star newspaper on Aug. 30th.  He didn't tell me I have a girlfriend that lives there and she sent me the article. So it really wasn't from the source.  You can read it for yourself: http://www.rrstar.com/news/gtkm/x1846589786 .  You go boyfriend.

 

Jim Berry, South Florida Steppers, says that their group and the Steppin2it Miami have decided to merge and form a new organization called "Urban Steppers Group".  All Righty then.  Go head ya'll.

 

The Las Vegas Steppers informed me that they will not be having a Steppers Set every Friday and Saturday anymore.  But they will have a Set once a month at the Alexis Park Resort and an Every Sunday Set at the Paran Elks Lodge.  Keep checking the Steppers 411 for more details.

 

I forgot to mention that the Joliet Steppers Club said that Miss Camille's in Joliet, IL is open again and they had their set last Saturday.  Sorry Burt I forgot to mention that last week.

 

Other things are happening in the Steppin' Community but I can't tell you all right now.  But when The Sources gives me the o.k., I will tell you then.

  

 

Cynt's 2 Cents

 

You know, I always find myself apologizing for what I said the week before because some people get offended on things that I say in the Cynt's 2 Cents section.  People, these are my opinions only.  It doesn't mean that you have to follow what I say.  Some people act like my opinions are in a "Steppers Bible" as part of Steppers commandments or something.  Sorry Lord but they do.  When I give you Cynt's 2 Cents, that means that it is just worth that.  Nothing more, nothing less.  I would also appreciate when people tell others that don't receive my e-mails what I say in my report, to tell them exactly what I said.  If you can't do that, forward them the e-mail or print it out so they can read it in its entirety.  I get people telling me I said this or that and argue with me because they didn't get the whole gist of why I said what I said.  Then when I explain to them what I said then the light goes on.  The Steppers 411 newsletter is meant to be for your entertainment only.  If you talked to me in person or on the phone you would know that I'm not to offend anyone.  We are all grown.  Let's keep this dance growing. Support your local Steppers Organizations physically and financially.
